I get compliments on this look all the time, but it does require using a darker shade from another palette to achieve. Christine, your review is basically on par with the lone 1 star review I left on the Charlotte Tilbury. That glitter shade is useless and was gone within an hour. I gave slightly lower marks but it was colored by my immense disappointment (as this was my first palette from the brand) and the insane price point for such a mediocre product.

Her kits are a great way to go to try multiple products at a lower price. Honestly, I wear Pillow Talk regularly and use it many times to create swatches for this blog, and I still have a long ways to go to even finish the mini size I got a couple years ago. Minis always last so much longer than you think possible. Plus, the mini is much lighter weight and more compact in size for carrying in your purse. Pillow Talk is one of the first Charlotte Tilbury shades I acquired in a holiday kit of three mini lipsticks.

I feel like quads don’t get put together with the thoughtful consideration they need to have to make them worthwhile. My first reaction was super positive — I am a very fair toned, warm neutrals-liking person. And I’ve been interested in rosier, warm neutrals; I have enough oranges and browns to last a few lifetimes. LilyM, everything you pointed out about CT’s branding are things that I’ve noticed as well.

Pillow Talk Multi-Glow Beautifying All Over Glow Highlighter
It was lightly powdery but didn’t seem prone to fallout and I didn’t have issues with the color sheering out too quickly when applied. This shade lasted well for eight hours before fading visibly. Pillow Talk Day Eyes (Prime) is a light gold with strong, warm orange undertones and a metallic finish. The consistency was soft, lightly creamy, and dense without being thick or too firmly-pressed into the pan. It had opaque color coverage that stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours before fading a bit. The new shades are long overdue in my opinion, since the original Pillow Talk shade was really only a nude for light-medium skin tones.
It stayed on well for eight hours before I noticed faint fading. Pillow Talk Date Eyes (Enhance) is a medium-dark brown with moderate, warm undertones and a matte finish. The color payoff was opaque in one layer, which adhered evenly to bare skin and blended out without difficulty.

Seems as though she does indeed lack inclusion of anyone Medium or beyond. The only exception may be those Cat-eyes e/s singles from a few years back, which would have worked on anyone and everyone! Unfortunately, that’s where the brand’s inclusiveness ends. Hers is not the only brand guilty of excluding us, but it is one that does so in a way that makes it a brand that only barely gets my attention for that reason. Whilst this isn’t my kind of palette, I think it has been well done. The shimmer and matte shades had both decent pigmentation and depth to them.
Luxury Eye Palette + Eyes to Mesmerise
It has a slight slip when first applied but seems to dry out a bit during wear. After a day of wear I feel that my lips could use a balm but not completely parched either. It lasts through sipping and light snacks but is gone after an actual meal. It does last longer with a lip liner in a similar shade underneath. The sample lipstick has a light sweet vanilla scent that is very reminiscent of the MAC lipstick vanilla scent.

What strikes me most is how different the swatches are from the official Tilbury site. I always find the ‘pop’ shades to be the weakest in her quads (too dry and too much fall out), I was surprised when she released the two pop palettes at the end of last year. There are two new highlighters called the Pillow Talk Multi-Glow Beautifying All Over Glow Highlighter ($45 each). There are two variations in Romance Light and Dream Light. Each palette has a mix of finely milled shimmers and a couple sparkle shades.
Not for me – the finished look would be “eye irritation” because it’s all so pink. But then “drier” and “dustier” gave me negative flashback memories of Bobbi Brown’s Antique Rose that I tried to make work and eventually pitched. So I am holding out to see how it feels when I can swatch in store, and I’ll check out the dupes also.
I also like a monochromatic vibe, though the Pillow Talk lipstick washes me out. Yeah, I don’t know how well this will work on medium or darker skin tones. I felt like it was close to washing me out, and I’m more light to light-medium. Charlotte Tilbury has decoded her artistry into an easy 2-step ritual to recreate that youthful flush of first love that she calls a “love glow”.
Pillow Talk #1is a soft peach with strong, warm orange undertones and a frosted sheen. It had good pigmentation with a soft, lightly dusty texture that was a little thinner than ideal (particularly for using over bare skin but fine over primer). The eyeshadow blended out easily–a little too readily–and had a drier look on my skin. It wore well for seven and a half hours on me before fading noticeably.
I’ve done a couple reviews of Charlotte Tilbury lipstick formulas here and here, so I’ll mainly be updating with swatches. Normally matte lipsticks can be super drying and you have to be careful as they can sometimes emphasize any dry or cracked areas on your lips. Well first off, this lipstick is the most gorgeous nude pink shade that enhances the natural shade of the lips. I don’t understand the hype around Charlotte Tilbury quads, all the swatches I’ve seen have been pretty underwhelming.
The sparkle is super fine so it’s not chunky on the skin. This first set of swatches compares Pillow Talk to the most similar Charlotte Tilbury lipstick shades I have in my collection. JK Magic, Bitch Perfect, and In Love With Olivia are the glossier KISSING formula.
It was really a nude on me, so I’m glad to see new shades that will work for anyone with a deeper skin tone. I swatched all the new products in store, and I loved the Pillow Talk Medium shade the best, plus I like the Matte Revolution formula slightly better than the K.I.S.S.I.N.G. formula. Nordstrom gets first access to the release beginning today (for this as well as the Pillow Talk blush, which I reviewed late last year).
